Steve Gardner's Biography
Co-Founder, Gardner Family Foundation
Since 1991, Steve Gardner has been one of the most successful leaders in the professional speaking industry. First as the top salesperson for one of the largest speakers bureaus in the country, and then as the owner when he and a business partner bought FIVE STAR Speakers & Trainers in 2005.
FIVE STAR has worked on more than 17,000 events in over 25 countries for the most prestigious organizations in the world. Those organizations include the largest corporations, the United Nations, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, major associations, and governmental agencies in every major industry. Additionally, FIVE STAR represents thousands of top speakers, authors, athletes, celebrities and entertainers whose fees range from $2,500 to more than $1,000,000 per appearance. Nearly 4,000,000 people have been impacted by FIVE STAR events around the world.
He is a member of the Executive Committee for the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. He has also been an advisor to non-profit organizations including 1-800-AMERICA, and has served on a variety of corporate boards including the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, among others.
In August of 2007 their 3rd child, Joshua, was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Colitis, which has turned into Eosinophilic GastroIntestinal Disease. To help defeat this chronic and lifelong disease, Steve and Cathy have established the Gardner Family Foundation. You'll see more about the vision of this foundation in other parts of the website.
Steve and Cathy have been married for 14 years after meeting in the lobby of Le Louvre art museum in Paris in 1991. Amazingly, they both lived in Kansas City at the time but had never met. In addition to Joshua (born in 2005), they have three other Children; Hope (born in 1998), Brendon (born in 2000), and Timothy (born in 2007). They live in Leawood, KS.
